Musubi

Brief
Musubi is a joint initiative between the UK and Japanese governments, which aims to build and connect the next generation of UK-Japan leaders. They tasked us with designing a website for them which looked credible and authoritative, and would work alongside their existing logo.

Solution
We used shapes and colours from the UK and Japanese flags throughout the design to represent the two countries working and growing together. The curve which differentiates sections of the site was inspired by the arc of Japanese bridges, and symbolises the connection of two places. It also has a positive feel to it – looking over the horizon to the future – as well as hinting at the global nature of the initiative. Centered type for headings and pull out text adds to the overall feeling of balance and harmony.
